Well done on your loss @Suffolksue. 👏👏👏 We always want more but you're averaging almost 2lbs a week which is good going. 👍
Glorious day here@bubbs and @joedenise. We didn't have any rain and it was warm in the sun.
I've been dancing this afternoon so no time for a proper roast. I did a chicken casserole this morning and then just had to reheat it and do veg when I got home.
There was a shared buffet tea at the dance and I did have a few more syns than usual. I enjoyed some smoked salmon on rye bread, a couple of falafels and a small (quarter) sandwich. They were only small canapé size portions so no real harm done.
Today's plan -
B- HEB porridge, HEA milk, berries (S), banana (F)
L- lentil and veg soup (P, S)
D- chicken casserole (P, S, F)
Syns - cornflour 1, canapés? weekend wine 😁 -

Morning all, it's grey and miserable here this morning and we had some rain overnight so everything feels quite damp. No washing today, bit annoying as I'd hoped to do the bedding today so that will be tomorrow now as it's forecast to be sunny. Hopefully there's enough solar to pay for heating up the water rather than actually having to pay for it via the bill!
Good losses @Suffolksue, you don't really want to be losing more than that each week as it's less likely to go back on if it's lost gradually.
Can you remind me how you make your strawberry tarts @bubbs please? I'm sure you've posted it before but for some reason I can't find it on my laptop (I usually copy and paste recipes I want to keep into a document to save so I can find it again!)
Sounds like you had a good afternoon dancing @maman and suspect there weren't that many syns consumed with a few canapés! There would have been more with the weekend wine!!!
Today's plan:
B - porridge, fruit - HEB; S; F
L - cheese omelette, HM coleslaw - P; S; 0.5
D - Chilli, white/wild rice - P; S; F (chilli currently cooking in the SC, half will be frozen for another day!)HEA1 - milk
HEA2 - cheese
HEB - porridge
Syns - LTL mayo 0.5Have a good day everyone.

Definitely more syns in the wine than the canapes @joedenise.🤣
I've been making veggie chilli lately so sin carne rather than con carne😁. I add a couple of extra tins of beans, leave out the meat and (of course) loads of extra veg. I still add a beef stock cube and a red wine one so the flavour is much the same. I really don't think DH is even aware it's an almost veggie meal. I usually add red beans, cannellini or borlotti or chickpeas depending on what I've managed to get that's good value. Sometimes I use a tin of cheapo baked beans including the sauce. It's an adapted Hairy Bikers recipe.
Chilli con carne - Recipes - Hairy Bikers
I fill the SC and it makes up to 4 meals plus usually a couple of small portions for putting on a JP.😋I'm feeling a bit yuk today. The GP gave me an antibiotic on Friday as a precaution in case my cough was a chest infection. They did warn me it could upset the stomach. I've been fine until this morning when I feel distinctly queasy. I've done my menu for today, just hope I feel like eating it all!🤔
Today's plan-
B- HEB toast. HEA milk for drinks, eggs (P), mushrooms and tomatoes (S)
L- LO chicken casserole (P,F,S)
D- cod (P), SW chips (F), roast veg and medley of green stuff (S)

Didn't have any kidney beans so I've added a tin of mixed beans instead. I've added extra veg and red lentils. Trying to decide whether to add a couple of squares of dark chocolate later to enhance the flavour, would only add 0.5 syn per portion or even less than that depending how many portions I manage to stretch it to. I'm hoping there will be at least 6 portions in total but will see once it's cooked.
Hope you feel better soon @maman. Antibiotics often upset stomachs for some people - I've been lucky not to have that problem over the years.

Afternoon all,
I re-joined the 'economically active' today with an online induction and afternoon check-in. More training tomorrow and Thursday then in the office on Friday. Will be doing Mon, Wed, Fri as the norm. So far so good!
I have fallen spectacularly off the wagon and am clinging to the under carriage with another gain this week! TBF I did have a few drinks on Saturday and some wine yesterday so only have myself to blame. I have done okay today though so positive pants on.
Food today:
B - M&S maple porridge sachet, half milk/half water, apple - HEB, 1/2 HEA, S
L - JP, half a tin of mixed taco beans from Aldi (which I'm hoping are free), 1/2 HEA of cheese, gherkins, pickled onions, pink pickled onions, picked red cabbage, skinny bar - 1, free?, 1/2 HEA, S, 4
D - SW creamy mustard pork with greens - free
HEA - milk
Syns - 5Well done on your losses @Jellybaby and @Suffolksue x
Shame about the gains @bubbs and @TakeItEazy
I hope you DH is doing okay now @TakeItEazy - very scary.
Sorry to hear you're poorly @maman - hope you feel better soon xCross-stitch WIP: HSC Jingle Bells Fiver Friday challenge 2025 founding member 😊 Read 25 books in 2025 08/25 Currently reading A Bird In The Hand by Ann Cleeves

Glad to hear your first induction went well @Coxy11.
Good news is that the taco beans are syn free.
Well done on getting back on plan today. Hopefully, your new job will motivate you to get those extra pounds off. 🤞
I feel much better than I did this morning. I only went to the surgery because I had chest pains as well as the cough but they were convinced it was muscular from coughing but gave me the antibiotics to be on the safe side.
Probably cheered up because I got £150 off my car insurance quote! 👍🤣

Maman hope you are feeling ok? So much about at the moment .
My car is going in tomorrow for the wipers, god knows how much that's going to be, if it's the motor , alot of money, but can't be without them and can't risk not getting them fixed as they work sometimes, not others and sometimes decide to work when there switched off 🤣
Food today
egg and tomato soft pitta, hexb , beetroot, watermelon and a pear.
Chicken skewers, half dozen chips and salad, hexa cheese mayo 2 syns
